Pittsburgh, PA (August 2, 2010) - Summa, a provider of IT consulting and system integration services and solutions, has acquired HarvestGold, a leading Salesforce.com Consulting Partner, and will create a new CRM solutions practice led by the HarvestGold team.
Summa CEO Audrey Dunning said the combination is a natural evolution since the two companies have worked together for several years and have completed successful Salesforce.com implementations at more than 15 companies, including Highmark, Inc., an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
"This is an exciting opportunity for our companies," she said. "Summa is at the point in its growth where acquisitions make sense. Cloud computing is a strategic focus for us and Salesforce.com is one of the top 10 cloud computing solutions. HarvestGold's experience delivering CRM implementation and Force.com development services fits well with Summa's strategic direction and current enterprise client requirements. We both feel that will help us better capitalize on opportunities, leverage capabilities and gain efficiencies that benefit our clients."
"For HarvestGold, this is an opportunity to scale our business more quickly," said HarvestGold founder Steve Lippock. "We will help Summa clients leverage salesforce.com's Force.com platform to develop cloud computing and CRM solutions. HarvestGold clients will benefit from Summa's application development and system integration capabilities to address the complex technical issues that come with deploying cloud computing in an enterprise environment."
Dunning also indicated that the CRM practice will continue to offer services tailored to small to mid size companies, a market that HarvestGold has grown successfully.
Clients who have worked with the joint Summa-HarvestGold team say the combination will benefit companies seeking comprehensive cloud computing and IT solutions.
"The Summa-HarvestGold team brought a wide range of services to us," said Lori Ashby, Relationship Management Consultant at Highmark, where Summa and HarvestGold have been working together for some time. "We identified the need for a strategic sales force automation solution that met our immediate needs and provided options for future functionality. The team delivered."
