What’s New in IBM Integration Bus V9.0?

Just a week before IMPACT, IBM announced IBM Integration Bus V9.0. IBM Integration Bus (IIB) is Version 9.0 of IBM WebSphere Message Broker, one of IBM’s flagship integration products. IIB V9 will be released on June 14, 2013. While at IMPACT Summa learned about several new and exciting features included on this product release. We’d like to share with you some of these new features in this post.

Load Testing Web Services with soapUI

There are many tools available for testing web services.  One of the ones we use that’s easy and has a fairly rich set of features is soapUI (did I mention that it’s also free and open source).  With this tool you can easily test SOAP or RESTful services either by manually adding the links and messages, or via a WSDL or WADL utilizing their import feature.  In either case, entering a request and receiving a response is a fairly trivial task and for purposes of time, will not be discussed here.  You can find more information on how to get started with soapUI on their website.

I now have something new to obsess about — making sure I lose some weight in time for IBM’s Impact 2012 Conference at the end of April, and my BodyMedia FIT and the FITCoach will help me do it. FITCoach is an enhancement to the existing FIT product that analyzes your performance and provides personalized feedback to better achieve your goals. It looks like I may need to go hiking today, “You can still reach your calorie burn target today. Try hiking for 1 hour and 5 minutes, or attend an exercise class.”

It’s also telling me I could Golf for 1 hour and 15 minutes to still hit my goal. That sounds like more fun.

Last summer and fall, Summa worked with BodyMedia, Inc. to design and implement the new FITCoach feature. We did it using decision management technology from IBM.
